jamie green wins at Norisring

Congratulations to Mercedes Driver, Jamie Green who won in a thrilling DTM race at the Norisring, Germany on Sunday 28th June. Many are saying that it is the best DTM race ever. You can check it out on YouTube under ‘DTM Norisring 2009′

It is the second year in a row that Jamie has won this event. What makes this all the more remarkable is that he is driving a 2008 car. Jamie has shown an even greater sense of professionalism this season. He has trained extremely hard this winter. We have focused on developing his all-round strength and conditioning and as a result he has put on 4kg of muscle. I keep asking him to change the old photo on his website as it does not do him and his much improved physical condition justice. 

Jamie was also recovering from a virus in the lead-up to the race. This adds credenace to one of my earlier blogs regarding the ability to dig deep at the bottom of the well when the going gets tough. Only a high level of physical and mental toughness will allow you the ability to do this. Jamie has shown a much- underestimated mental toughness and resiliance this season. He is relishing the challenge of driving an old car against the odds and this, plus his undoubted talent has certainly  proved his quality. The race at Norisring is testimony to this.
