Smith seals title

Congratulations to Dean Smith, who won the Formula Renault UK title in the final round last weekend at Brands Hatch, England.

Dean has been working with me for the last 6 weeks to give him a final push towards the title. I am delighted for him and it is well- deserved. It is especially impressive as he missed the first three rounds of the season.

I like Dean’s style. He is very focused and would certainly be in a higher category if it were not for a lack of sponsorship. When somebody has obvious talent it is a shame top see their progress halted solely because of funding.

I am looking forward to working with him and hopefully the right opportunity will arise in the higher formulas this winter. Meanwhile, we will be digging deep on the Physical Training side to help him succeed at the next level.

He is the second of the drivers who I work with, to have won a title this season. Daniel McKenzie is the British Formula 3 National Class Champion 2009.
