Alexander Sims (UK) claimed victory in the Euro Formula 3 series at Paul Ricard, France this weekend. Alexander stormed from sixth place on the grid in the second race, with a typically skilled and dynamic drive to claim top spot on the Podium
After a mechanical issue in Friday qualifying left him in another P6 grid position for the first race, the ART GRAND PRIX driver claimed the first Podium spot of his 2010 campaign with third place. These two results leave him in a strong position as the series next heads to Hockenheim, Germany in two weeks time.
Alexander was the first driver I worked with when I left Formula 1 full-time at the end of 2007. He has come a long way since those early Formula Renault days. He is tremendously strong and fit and has proved he can deal comfortably with the physical pressures of higher powered series’ such as GP2 and World Series By Renault (WSR) this year. He also has the hard work ethic, mental toughness and all-important fighting spirit that any top sportsperson needs when the chips are down. In addition to this, he is a good man and a pleasure to work with.
I will keep you posted about Alexander’s progress throughout the season.
Gerry.
